CHURCH OF CHRIST FAQs
Attending the Church of Christ
Why should I come to this church?
You should come to this church because we are a family of disciples working hard to practice the words of Jesus found in John 13:35. "All men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." Our mission on earth begins and ends with love. The love of Jesus motivates us to reach out to the hurting, the hungry, the lonely, and the lost. Despite our imperfections and weaknesses we stand ready to help others with theirs. We are defenders of the truth, givers of our self, lovers of all people and grateful for God's grace. This church cannot save anyone, but this church knows well the one that saves us all. God bless you for your interest in His church. |
Sunday Expectations
|
What could I expect to see if I visit? You can expect that we will welcome everyone who visits our assembly with equal enthusiasm without showing favoritism. Whether you are searching for a church family or you're an active member of the body of Christ, we humbly invite you to share in our fellowship and accept our invitation to return again. We will only practice the activities we know were promoted and practiced by the church we read about in the New Testament. And we will make it our constant aim to fulfill the words of Paul, who told the church, "All the things you do, must be done for the strengthening of the church." 1 Corinthians 14:26. You can expect to be strengthened when you visit our assembly and every time you return. God bless you for your interest in His church. |

Beliefs About Baptism
|
What do you believe about baptism? - The baptism administered by the disciples of Jesus in the New Testament was always a full immersion, by being buried underneath water. - When you are baptized, you are baptized into Jesus’ death and united with him in death so that you might be united with Him in the resurrection. (Romans 6:3-5)
- Baptism is a burial. (Colossians 2:12. Romans 6:3-5)
- Noah’s family being saved through water in the ark, was a symbol of the water baptism that now saves you. Not by removing dirt from your body, but the answer of a good conscience toward God. (1 Peter 3:20- 21)
- Baptism is being born again of the water and the Spirit. (John 3:1-5)
- Preaching the gospel of Jesus included water baptism for the forgiveness of sins. (Acts 8:26-40)
- When you are baptized you are putting on, or clothing yourself with Jesus.
